Art Classes:
Thank you Bobbie Gray & volunteer artists from the Marin Society of Artists, who provided their expertise to help BVIM students create amazing works of art in the "poured painting" watercolor method classes held in April at Whistlestop in San Rafael!! Future art class dates to be announced.
MCIL (Marin Center For Independent Living):
Located in San Rafael, MCIL provides many free service including access modifications & recycled equipment. 415-459-6245.
Red Cross Info:
A representative from the Red Cross recently met with the San Rafael support group to give valuable info on disaster preparedness. Members were given a check list for a Home Disaster Plan & Supply kit, and the importance of posting emergency contacts was stressed. Emergency contact cards can be obtained by calling toll free: 1-877-773-7229.
Personal assistant & senior companion available:
Herman Clasen is currently the Volunteer Leader of the "Elder Circle" senior support group at Whistlestop in San Rafael; he has worked & volunteered for several years as a senior companion/personal assistant and is currently seeking a p/t, paid position. Call Hermann at 415-456-0527.

Cruise to Hong Kong:
Joan Yates has returned from a cruise to Hong Kong - 17 days at sea with one stop in Hawaii!

SUPPORT GROUP UPDATE
Anabella Denisoff's San Rafael Support Group
will meet May 19th instead of May 26, because May 26th is a holiday (Memorial Day). The group meets at 1137 4th St., San Rafael from 10 AM-12 PM.
Lorene Miller's Marin City Support Group
meets at the Marguerite Johnson Senior Center, 640 Drake Ave., Marin City on the 4th Monday of the month from 11 AM-12:30 PM. The location is easily accessible by Whistlestop wheels. In May they will meet on the 19th instead of the 26th because of the holiday. The group welcomes new members!
Jeffrey Torrico's Novato Support Group
meets at All Saints Lutheran Church, 2 San Marin Drive, Novato on the 2nd Friday of each month from 1-3PM.
Virginia Dziomba's San Rafael Support Group
meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 1137 4th St, San Rafael, from 1-3PM. The group welcomes new members!
Joan Tollefson's Redwoods Support Group
has been discontinued temporarily. Group members are welcome to attend the Marin City Group (or any other group).
